Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma unveiled a seven-foot bronze statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju at Gogannamatham village of Ambedkar Konaseema district in Andhra Pradesh today.

Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister described Alluri as a legendary freedom fighter who shook the British Empire and dedicated his life to the nation at a young age. He said, it was a matter of pride that the revolutionary leader hailed from the region and remembered his struggle for the rights of tribal communities.
