Met Dept predicts heavy rains in parts of Punjab during next two days

In Punjab, water level in various dams is rising. Authorities are on full alert. The metrological department has also predicted heavy rains in most of the parts of the state during next two days.

The increased water level of Satluj river in Roopnagar district has caused damage to property in Harshabela village and areas around it. Due to a breach in satluj the flood water has create havoc there. The building of Anganwadi centre has been damaged. NDRF teams have been pressed into action to help the affected people. The district authorities have advised people to stay in relief camps. On the other hand more water is being released from Harike headworks in Ferozpur on Satluj. Thousands of residents of nearly 40 villages are facing flood furry in the district.
