Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla today flagged off the Manipur team who will participate in the 11th SPIC MACAY International Convention, which will be held from 25th to 31st May, 2026 at IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal. The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) is a voluntary and non-political cultural movement that aims to introduce young people, especially students, to Indian classical music, dance, folk traditions, crafts, yoga, meditation, heritage walks, classic cinema and other aspects of Indian and world heritage.
A total of 18 members, including teachers and students from Assam Rifles Public School, Mantripukhri, Keithelmanbi and Manipur University of Culture will participate in the convention. During a brief interaction with the students, the Governor extended his heartfelt congratulations to them on their participation in the event. He said that the convention would provide them with a broader and holistic exposure to various aspects of India’s rich cultural heritage both within the country and abroad.
