BJP National President Nitin Nabin has sent specially curated boxes of premium Indian mangoes to diplomats from 82 countries posted in the national capital as part of a unique cultural outreach initiative. The hampers featured four of India’s most celebrated varieties including Gir Kesar from Gujarat, Banganapalle from Andhra Pradesh, Dussehri and Benarasi Langra from Uttar Pradesh, each known for its distinctive taste, aroma, and regional identity.
The initiative aims to showcase India’s rich horticultural heritage and highlight the global appeal of its most-loved summer fruit. Along with the mangoes, Mr Nabin sent a personal note conveying greetings and underlining the cultural significance of the fruit, which he described as a symbol of hospitality, friendship, and India’s agricultural legacy.
The gesture is being viewed as a form of cultural diplomacy, using one of India’s iconic fruits to foster goodwill and strengthen engagement with the diplomatic community in the national capital.
India is among the world’s largest producers of mangoes, widely appreciated both domestically and internationally for their flavour and quality.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme, talked about different varieties of mangoes in the country and said every region has its own mango with own flavour.
