In Kerala, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Red Alert in the districts of Kannur and Kasaragod today indicating the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall. In Alappuzha, where many low-lying areas are waterlogged, the State Health Department will launch three mobile floating dispensaries, a round-the-clock water ambulance, and a land mobile unit from tomorrow to tackle emergency situations.

AIR Correspondent reports that there has been some respite from heavy rains, but intermittent showers do continue in some parts of the state. In Kannur, about 300 people were shifted to safety due to water logging. A landslide was reported at Kappimala in the district. An Orange Alert has been issued in Peringalkoothu Dam in Thrissur district as the water level crossed 422 meters. Severe sea incursion was reported in the coastal areas of Kollam, Kasaragod, Alappuzha, and Ernakulam, causing widespread damage. The water level in Meenachil, Pampa, and Manimalayar rivers is on the rise resulting in water logging in several low-lying areas of Kottayam, Alappuzha, and Pathanamthitta districts."
