In Jammu and Kashmir, to promote voter awareness, District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai, flagged off a mega rally under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign from the DC Office Complex yesterday.

 

Our Jammu correspondent reports that senior district administration officers, representatives from various departments, students, and staff members from different educational institutions participated in the awareness event. The rally travelled through Slathia Chowk, Court Road, Ramnagar Chowk, Gole Market, and the Bus Stand, culminating at the Mini Stadium. The primary goal of the rally was to educate the public, particularly the youth, about the importance of participating in the democratic process through voting. DEO Udhampur emphasized the crucial role of each vote in strengthening democracy and encouraged all eligible voters to aim for 100% turnout in the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections. Following the rally, the District Administration organized a kite-flying event under the SVEEP initiative at the Sports Stadium Udhampur, with the Deputy Commissioner serving as the chief guest.  She noted that the kite-flying event symbolizes freedom and the democratic spirit.
