Israel’s military began a wave of strikes across Lebanon after the announcement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that his country will intensify its attacks on Hezbollah.

 

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it targeted Hezbollah sites in the Bekaa Valley in the east of Lebanon and some additional areas across the country.

 

Netanyahu said Israel is at war with Hezbollah and has instructed the military to deal them a crushing blow. He claimed Israeli operations have killed more than 600 Hezbollah fighters.

 

The latest strikes come despite the country’s agreement to extend a 45-day ceasefire. Fighting, however, has continued, mainly in southern Lebanon.
