India’s Badminton stars will begin their campaign today at the Korea Masters 2026, a BWF Super 300 tournament, beginning today at the Asan Yi Sun-sin Gymnasium in Asan, South Korea. The tournament will run until 9th of this month.
All eyes will be on 17-year-old Tanvi Sharma, who enters the tournament after winning her first BWF World Tour title at the Taipei Open.
The young Indian defeated Vietnam’s Nguyen Thuy Linh in the final to become only the fourth Indian woman to win a Super 300 or higher title. With PV Sindhu taking a break and Unnati Hooda absent, Tanvi will lead India’s women’s singles campaign.
In the men’s singles, Kidambi Srikanth returns fully fit after finishing runner-up at the US Open. The former world No. 1 and third seed will aim to continue his strong form as India looks for another impressive performance on the international circuit.
India has a strong contingent across all categories. In women’s singles, Malvika Bansod, Anmol Kharb, Isharani Baruah, Aakarshi Kashyap, Ashmita Chaliha, Tanya Hemanth, Mansi Singh, Rakshitha Sree Santhosh Ramraj and Shriyanshi Valishetty will also be in action. The men’s singles squad includes Kiran George, Mithun Manjunath, Tharun Mannepalli, Rounak Chouhan and Saneeth Dayanand alongside Srikanth.
In women’s doubles, Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra, along with Sonali Singh and Ritika Thaker, will compete. In the men’s doubles, Krishna Prasad Garaga and Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy, Bhargav Ram Arigela and Viswa Tej Gobburu, and Achutaditya Rao Doddavarapu and Pochana Arjun Reddy will be in action.
India’s mixed doubles challenge will feature Ishaan Bhatnagar and Shruti Mishra, Dhruv Rawat and Maneesha K, and Sathwik Reddy Kanapuram and Radhika Sharma.
India’s top men’s doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, will miss the tournament as Satwik continues to recover from a shoulder injury.
The Korea Masters serves as an important event for Indian players to gain confidence and ranking points ahead of the BWF World Championships, which will be held in New Delhi later this month.
