Polling for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) concluded yesterday. Voting was held in two phases. A total of 1,000 EVMs were arranged for the election, of which 960 were used for voting, while 40 were kept in reserve.
Voting was held for four central posts: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary. A total of 20 candidates from major student organisations, including the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, National Students’ Union of India, and the alliance of the All India Students’ Association and Students’ Federation of India, were in the fray.
According to the final provisional list, there were seven candidates for President, five for Vice-President, four for Secretary, and four for Joint Secretary.
Counting of votes will take place today at the Multipurpose Hall of Delhi University’s University Sports Stadium in North Campus.
Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has ordered that no victory processions be taken out following the declaration of the DUSU election results.
