The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert predicting heatwave to severe heatwave conditions over Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha tomorrow. The weather agency has also forecast heatwave conditions over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana and Uttarakhand for the next two to three days. The IMD has also predicted hot and humid weather conditions over Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan, Goa, Odisha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the next two to three days.
The Met Department has also predicted heavy rainfall over Bihar, interior Karnataka and the north-eastern region till Sunday. According to the Met Department, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely over Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Telangana and parts of the North East during the next three to four days. Similar weather conditions are expected over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh and Coastal Karnataka till tomorrow.
