IMD issues orange alert for heavy rain in several states tomorrow

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange color warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for tomorrow. Heavy rainfall is also expected to prevail over Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands over the next two to three days.
 
IMD said that thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are likely to prevail over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and West Madhya Pradesh tomorrow. Similar conditions are also expected over Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan and Telangana till Monday.
 
The Weather Department has also advised fishermen not to venture into parts of the north Arabian Sea till 3rd of this month, and few parts of the east-central Arabian Sea from 3rd to 6th of this month.
