The Alipore Weather Office of the IMD forecast scattered rainfall over the districts of West Bengal today, with East and West Medinipur, Bankura, Purulia, Paschim Bardhaman, and Birbhum districts may experience heavy rainfall. Winds with speeds of 40km to 50 km/h with sporadic rainfall are forecast in the South 24 Parganas and Paschim Medinipur districts. Fishermen have been alerted against venturing into the sea due to rough sea conditions today. The Jalpaiguri district of North Bengal may receive heavy rainfall, and the Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Alipurduar districts may witness very heavy rainfall.
