In Tamil Nadu, the India Meteorological Department – IMD has forecast moderate to widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over interior Tamil Nadu today and tomorrow. The Vellore district administration has suspended school for classes 1 to 5 today due heavy rainfall. Waterlogging was witnessed at the Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway in Konavattam in Vellore.

Earlier on Tuesday, the IMD said that the southwest monsoon has been active over Tamil Nadu, with rainfall occurring at most places over South and North Tamil Nadu over many places, and light rain occurring over Puducherry. IMD said that heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over the Nilgiris, and Ghat areas of Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, and Madurai districts.
