IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall over South Bengal

Due to a low-pressure formation over the north-west Bay of Bengal and over the adjacent north Odisha and West Bengal coasts, the IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall over the districts of south Bengal from today.

The Alipore weather office of IMD in Kolkata predicted heavy rainfall over the coastal districts of East Medinipur and South 24 Parganas districts today. Kolkata and adjoining districts would get sporadic rainfall today also. Due to rough sea conditions, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for five days. On the other hand, districts of north Bengal may experience a lesser amount of rainfall for the coming five days.
