IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim for next two days

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for the next two days. IMD said that heavy rainfall conditions are also expected over Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Goa, Odisha, Telangana, Kerala and North- eastern parts of the country today.

The Met Department has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at places over Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh till 25th of this month. According to IMD, Vidarbha, East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are likely to experience heat wave conditions during the day. Meanwhile, squally weather with wind speeds gusting up to 60 kilometres per hour is also likely to prevail over the Gulf of Mannar, some parts of the Bay of Bengal, along and off Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal, today.
