India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during this week. Similar conditions are expected to prevail over Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal till tomorrow. The Met department said that conditions are favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into parts of Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh during the next four to five days.
Thunderstorms accompanied with hailstorms are likely over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Uttarakhand till tomorrow. The weather agency has predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Chhattisgarh, East Rajasthan, Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim for tomorrow.
IMD said heatwave conditions are expected over Maharashtra, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh for the next two days. It added that hot and humid weather conditions are expected over Andhra Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan, Goa and Odisha till tomorrow.
