IMD forecasts enhanced rainfall activity over Northeast India till Thursday

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast enhanced rainfall and thunderstorm activity over Northeast India till Thursday. Heavy rainfall and snowfall is likely to occur over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura for the next two to three days. The weather department also forecast that two western disturbances are likely to affect the Himalayan region till 5th of this month. Under its influence, isolated to scattered rainfall or snowfall with thunderstorms and lighting are very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand till 6th of April.

 

Whereas, the parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh to witness light rainfall till 5th of April.

 
The weather department has also predicted heat wave conditions over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, North Interior Karnataka, and Telangana during the next three days. Hot and humid weather is likely to prevail over Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Odisha.
 
Meanwhile, the IMD forecast strong winds and a partly cloudy sky in Delhi. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.
