To mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and his 25 years of public service, a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be launched from his hometown, Vadnagar, in Gujarat today. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will flag off a Vadnagar-to-Varanasi bike rally as part of the celebrations.
A series of welfare programmes will be held at PM’s birthplace, Vadnagar, today on the occasion of his birthday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will participate in a grand Maha Aarti at the historic Sharmishtha Lake, where sacred water will be collected in a kalash and handed over to bikers travelling to Varanasi.
The dignitaries will lead a foot march from the lake to the Hatkeshwar Temple to offer prayers, followed by flagging off a rally of 250 bikers heading to Varanasi to spread the message of public service. Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will also lead a cleanliness drive at Vadnagar Railway Station.
