Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda today said the government has significantly strengthened the country’s healthcare system by expanding primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services.
Addressing the 16th Conference of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi. Mr Nadda said 1.86 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been established as the first point of contact between citizens and the healthcare system.
He said that the government has improved linkages between primary and secondary healthcare to ensure better continuity of treatment. Mr Nadda added that tertiary healthcare has also been strengthened with the establishment of 23 new AIIMS and over 157 medical colleges across the country, particularly in underserved and backward districts.
