In Haryana, the sacred Kalash Vandan Yatra, organised to mark the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj, reached Kambopura village in Gharaunda Assembly constituency today. A large number of people, including Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, welcomed the procession at the Sant Shri Ravidas Temple. The yatra began from Seer Govardhanpur at Kashi in Uttar Pradesh, the birthplace of Guru Ravidas.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kalyan said the life and teachings of Sant Guru Ravidas continue to inspire humanity towards equality, social harmony and selfless service. He said the Kalash Vandan Yatra conveys a strong message of social unity, national spirit and the need to build a harmonious society.
