On the occasion of Teachers’ Day today, 79 teachers from Haryana were honoured at a state-level award ceremony held in Panchkula.
The Chief Guest, Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh, and the Guest of Honour, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, presented awards to these teachers in recognition of their outstanding and exceptional contributions to the field of school education.
Addressing the teachers, Governor Ghosh stated that this honor is not merely a recognition of individual achievement but an acknowledgment of the entire teaching community, the education system, and the bright future of Haryana.
The Governor remarked that the life of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan serves as an inspiring example of how teaching is not just a profession but a powerful medium for nation-building. He noted that in this era of technology, the role of the teacher has not diminished; rather, it has become even more significant. He observed that while Artificial Intelligence can provide answers, it is the teacher who teaches how to ask the right questions.
In Haryana, starting from the upcoming academic session, teachers associated with higher education, technical education, and technology education will be honoured with the State Teacher Award. Announcing this on the occasion of Teachers’ Day today, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said, encouraging all teachers who make outstanding contributions in the field of education is a priority for the government.
Speaking at the state-level Teachers’ Day function in Panchkula, the Chief Minister remarked that this ceremony serves as an opportunity to express gratitude for the teachers’ dedication and contributions to education.
Congratulating all the award-winning teachers, the Chief Minister noted that a teacher’s role is not limited merely to completing the curriculum; rather, they play a pivotal role in shaping students’ personalities and molding them into better citizens. He also urged teachers to cooperate in making Haryana the leading state in the country in the field of education.
Mr Saini observed that today, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital technology, and the internet have opened countless avenues for information. While AI can prepare a lesson, it cannot place a reassuring hand on the shoulder of a disheartened child to instill confidence; only a teacher can do that. Therefore, in this era of technology, the role of the teacher has not diminished rather it has become even more significant.
