The Gujarat Government has launched the Gujarat Shipbuilding and Repair Policy 2026 in Gandhinagar to position the state as India’s leading maritime and manufacturing hub. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said the policy supports the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Maritime Vision 2047 by developing a smart and sustainable shipbuilding ecosystem. The policy aims to increase shipbuilding capacity, establish two mega shipbuilding parks, and create skill development opportunities for over five lakh people. A Mega Greenfield Shipbuilding Cluster at Kuchhadi in Porbandar district is also expected to attract investments of nearly 23,700 crore rupees. The policy offers various incentives and a single-window clearance system to boost investment in the sector.
