Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu has said that India’s aviation sector is expanding rapidly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing the 42nd Raising Day celebrations of Pawan Hans in New Delhi today, Mr. Naidu said that today air connectivity is reaching newer regions of the country. The Minister said India currently has around 250 civilian helicopters, while the country’s growing needs indicate a demand for more than 1000 helicopters. He said that under the modified UDAN scheme, the government is working towards developing 200 modern helipads over the next ten years, with an outlay of three thousand 661 crore rupees.
