The government has debunked a video circulating on social media claiming that petrol supplied by Indian petroleum companies to Bhutan is being sold there at a significantly lower price than in India. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said that the video is old and is being shared out of context to mislead citizens.

PIB clarified that the retail price of petrol in Bhutan can be verified through official sources. The government has also urged citizens to always verify information through authentic sources before believing or sharing it and report any suspicious content related to the Government of India to the PIB Fact Check Unit through WhatsApp and email.
