Global Drug Regulatory Conclave will reinforce India’s position as global pharmaceutical innovation hub: Union Minister Goyal

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said the Global Drug Regulatory Conclave 2026 will strengthen international cooperation and reinforce India’s position as a global pharmaceutical innovation hub.

In a social media post, Mr Goyal said the two-day conclave, which commenced at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi yesterday, is India’s flagship international forum on pharmaceutical regulatory cooperation and convergence. The event has brought together heads and senior officials of national drug regulatory authorities across the world.

The Minister said India is seeking closer cooperation among the world’s medicine regulators, supported by its expanding network of trade agreements. He added that such collaboration will enable faster access to high-quality and affordable medicines for patients across the globe while boosting innovation in the pharmaceutical sector.

Mr Goyal also expressed hope that the conclave will foster deeper collaboration among the Indian pharmaceutical industry, global regulators, and other stakeholders, paving the way for a more resilient, innovative, and patient-centric global healthcare ecosystem.
