Former senior IIS officer Deepankar Mukhopadhyay passed away in Kolkata last night after a brief illness. He was 77. Mr Mukhopadhyay served in various media units of the Ministry of I&B, and in the News services Division of All India Radio. He also served as AIR Special Correspondent in Singapore. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
