Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Debangshu Panda has secured a massive lead in 8th round of counting for the Falta Assembly repoll.
Counting is underway at Diamond Harbour Women’s University. Debangshu Panda of BJP was leading by 31,065 votes when reports last came in.
Shambhu Nath Kurmi of Communist Party of India (Marxist) was running in second position, Abdur Razzak Mollah of Indian National Congress in third, and Jahangir Khan of All India Trinamool Congress was in fourth position.
The counting is being conducted across 14 tables and will span a total of 21 rounds for the Falta constituency.
