Delhi: Rains in capital bring relief from sweltering heat

A light spell of rain and thunderstorms this morning brought much-needed relief from the sweltering heat to the residents of the national capital. The IMD predicted a spell of very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in the city during the day. According to the IMD, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to reach around 38°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to hover near 27°C today. At the time of reporting this news, the Met department said that a temperature of 39.9 was recorded at the Pusa station of IMD. According to the weather agency, temperatures were recorded at 39.4°C at Ayanagar station, 39.2°C at Safdarjung station, 39°C at the Ridge area station, 38.8°C at Lodi Road station, and 38.6°C at Palam station.
