Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will inaugurate Dr. Marri Chenna Reddy TIMS, Telangana’s new super-specialty hospital in Sanathnagar today. Built to bring corporate-level healthcare to common people, it is the largest super-specialty hospital built in a single phase in the government sector, spread over 22.6 acres.
The hospital has 1,082 beds, including 300 ICU beds, 31 major and 6 minor operation theatres, and advanced diagnostic labs. It is India’s first government hospital to install an AI-based pneumatic tube system, which moves blood samples and medical reports between wards, labs, and pharmacy in just one to two minutes.
TIMS is designated a Centre of Excellence in six areas.. organ transplants, cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences, nephrology, and trauma care. It has advanced imaging equipment. The hospital achieved IGBC Gold rating for saving 75 percent water through sustainable design.
Ahead of the inauguration, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha reviewed arrangements on Sunday with officials from Health, Police, GHMC, Traffic, and Water Board departments, directing them to ensure smooth entry, parking, security, sanitation, and water and power supply for the event.
