Most parts of Uttarakhand are experiencing clear weather today. With improved weather conditions, work to reopen roads disrupted at various locations across the state is underway on a war footing. More than 50 rural roads remain blocked due to landslides and are expected to be reopened soon.
Traffic in the Niti Valley of Chamoli, which was disrupted after a Bailey bridge at Tamak Nala was washed away due to heavy rainfall, has been restored in record time. The district administration and concerned departments constructed a temporary motorable road by installing hume pipes, following which vehicular movement resumed yesterday evening.
