Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu has debunked the claims stating that the Government plans to blend ethanol with Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) are completely false and irresponsible. In a social media post, Mr Naidu today said that there is no such proposal. He said that Ethanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) are entirely different and should not be conflated. Mr Naidu said that SAF is an internationally certified aviation fuel recognised by International Civil Aviation Organisation and adopted globally which undergoes rigorous testing and meets stringent global safety standards. The Minister said that passenger safety remains the Government’s highest priority and spreading misinformation on aviation safety only creates needless anxiety among air travellers.
