Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan today launched the nationwide Khet Bachao Abhiyan- Rabi 2026 from Karnal in Haryana. The campaign aims to promote sustainable agriculture, improve soil health and encourage the judicious use of agricultural resources. It also aims to create awareness among farmers about the balanced and judicious use of fertilizers and other agricultural inputs based on soil testing. The campaign will continue till 30th of next month.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chouhan said that the Central Government’s top priority is to protect the dignity, honour, and self-respect of farmers and the farming profession. He emphasised the need to create a balance of modernity and tradition that preserves the planet and ensures better earnings for farmers. The Minister appealed to the farmers for judicious use of fertilizers after the soil test through the Soil Health Card.
