BJP Launches Statewide ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatras’ from Pathankot

The Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party today launched the statewide “Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatras” from Pathankot district. BJP National President Nitin Nabin flagged off the march from Madhopur. Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Nabin said it is time to save Punjab and protect young people from drug addiction. He alleged that the state government’s “Yudh Nasheyan Virudh” campaign has failed to curb the drug menace. He also warned that those who shelter drug dealers could themselves be affected by the problem.

The 13-day yatra will be conducted in four phases. It will cover around four thousand kilometres across Punjab. The yatra aims to mobilise people in all 117 Assembly constituencies and turn the fight against drugs into a mass public movement. The yatra will conclude in Jalandhar on 30th of September.
