BJP Accuses AAP Govt of Failing to Maintain Law and Order in Punjab

The BJP has alleged that the law and order situation in Punjab has deteriorated under the Aam Aadmi Party government in the state. Addressing a Press Conference in New Delhi today, BJP MP Tarun Chugh has claimed that law and order in Punjab is ‘on a ventilator’ and alleged that doctors, lawyers, businessmen and other people are being forced to pay extortion money to mafias for their safety.

Mr Chug also claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party government has pushed Punjab into a huge financial debt, with the state’s debt expected to reach 4.75 lakh crore rupees. The BJP MP alleged that the people of Punjab are distressed and exhausted by the policies of the state government.

Mr Chugh also alleged that an ‘undeclared censorship’ is in place in Punjab. He claimed that the state government is influencing what newspapers publish and what television channels broadcast. The BJP alleged that decisions regarding the content to be published or aired are being taken from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s office.
