Bamboo is an integral part of Nagaland’s heritage, ecology and daily life: Neiphiu Rio

World Bamboo Day is being celebrated today, highlighting the environmental, economic, cultural and sustainable development value of bamboo. The theme for this year is “Bamboo Beyond Borders.” On the occasion, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said the people of the state celebrates a resource that supports livelihoods, protects the environment and offers possibilities for sustainable growth. He said bamboo is an integral part of Nagaland’s heritage, ecology and daily life. Mr. Rio urged people to nurture the value of bamboo and promote its responsible use for a greener and more sustainable future.
