In China, Indian athletes had a stellar day at the Hangzhou Asian Games on day 11, winning 12 medals, including 3 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze. So far India has clinched 18 gold, 31 silver, and 32 bronze. In today's event, Neeraj Chopra bagged gold while Kishore Jena secured silver in men's javelin throw. India got Men's gold and women's silver in 4x400m relay race. Jyoti Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale won gold for the country in compound mixed team archery final. Harmilan Bains won silver in women's 800m final while Avinash Sable won silver in men's 5000m final.
Lovlina Borgohain won silver in women's 75kg boxing event while Parveen Hooda secured bronze in women's 57kg boxing event.
Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh won India bronze in squash while Ram Babu and Manju Rani won bronze in the 35km mixed relay race walk. Sunil Kumar won bronze in men's Greco-Roman 87kg wrestling giving India a medal in the sport after 13 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian players for their outstanding performance at the Asian Games and wished the team best for upcoming events.
Tomorrow will be an eventful day for the Indian athletes with several medal matches lined up for the participants. Men's Marathon Final, Ju-Jitsu, Roller Skating, Wrestling and many more will be taking place. The Indian contingent will now be working towards its 100-medal goal with a rejuvenated effort tomorrow.
