Anti-marine Warfare Malvan set to join Indian Navy

The Indian Navy will commission the second of the Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, Malvan, on the 22nd of this month. The Defence Ministry informed that Malvan, built at Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi, epitomises India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision in modern naval shipbuilding and design. It further noted that, with over 80 per cent indigenous content, the ship exemplifies India’s growing mastery in warship design, construction and integration. The ceremony will be presided over by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, in the presence of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan.
