Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan says Viksit Bharat cannot be achieved without developing agriculture sector

Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan today emphasised that the vision of Viksit Bharat cannot be achieved without developing the agriculture sector.

Addressing the closing ceremony of Khet Bachao Abhiyan in Hisar, Haryana, Mr Chouhan said that the government is working on developing a mobile app that will provide information regarding soil and the amount of fertilizer the soil requires. He urged the farmers to use fertilisers and insecticides on their farms in a balanced manner in order to maintain the health of the soil. He also advised the farmers to adopt the practice of organic farming.

During his address, Mr Chouhan said that the government is exploring ways to manage the impact of less rainfall due to the El Niño effect. He also hailed the farmers of Haryana for their contribution in bringing a revolution in India’s agriculture sector and keeping the food grain stocks of the country sufficient.
