Two separate traffic accidents in Cambodia today killed 14 garment factory workers and injured 93 others. The first incident occurred in Kampong Chhnang province, where a heavy cargo truck collided with an open-top vehicle transporting workers to a factory. Country’s Labour Ministry said nine workers were killed and 53 others were injured in the accident.
In a separate accident in the southeastern province of Svay Rieng, a bus carrying factory workers veered off the road and overturned, leaving five people dead and 40 others injured. A report from Cambodia’s Transport Ministry stated that 1,467 people were killed in traffic accidents in 2025, making road accidents the leading cause of accidental deaths in the Southeast Asian nation.
