Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that Bhadohi district has been renamed Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi. Making the announcement at a programme in Bhadohi, Mr Adityanath said the district would now be known as Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi. The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering after inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for 112 development projects worth more than 1,340 crore rupees.

The Chief Minister said that on the occasion of Guru Purnima, it had been announced that Bhadohi, known for its carpet industry, would in future be associated with the name of Sant Ravidas, a medieval saint who, he said, worked to unite society through spiritual devotion.
