Yemen accuses Houthis of targeting Aden International Airport with two missiles

Yemen’s government has accused the Houthis of targeting Aden International Airport with two missiles, which reportedly landed near a Yemenia Airlines aircraft preparing for takeoff to Cairo. In a social media post, Yemen’s Information Minister Moammar Al-Eryani yesterday said flight IY 612 was preparing to depart for Cairo International Airport when the missiles landed around 500 metres from the aircraft and 100 metres from the runway’s centre.

Passengers and crew members were reported safe. He described Aden airport as a vital gateway for Yemenis travelling for medical treatment, education and employment.
The US Embassy in Saudi Arabia issued a security advisory warning American citizens of possible attacks, airport disruptions, flight cancellations and airspace closures amid recent missile and unmanned aerial vehicle attacks.
