In Yemen, 22 people were killed and 30 others injured after airstrikes hit a market in Yemen’s southwestern Taiz province today. Houthi Health Ministry spokesperson Anees Alsabahi confirmed the casualties in a post on X, saying the strikes targeted a market in the al-Waziyah district. The Saudi-backed Yemeni military and Houthi rebels have traded accusations over responsibility for the deadly attack. Saudi Arabia’s Information Ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The latest attack comes amid renewed hostilities in Yemen. Taiz province is largely under Houthi control, while the rebels have maintained a siege around the provincial capital, where the Saudi-backed government and its forces are based.
