In Keralam, a yellow alert has been issued in the Alappuzha and Ernakulam districts for isolated heavy rain today, providing relief from intense heat for the last three days. Daytime temperatures in several parts of the state have been three to four degrees Celsius above normal until yesterday.

For Friday and Saturday, a yellow alert has been issued for four districts. On the other hand, the National Centre for Ocean Information Services has warned of high waves and sea erosion along the coastal areas of Thiruvananthapuram district from today until tomorrow morning.
