Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India is being seen as bright spot of growth throughout the globe even as the world has many concerns regarding growth and resources are getting weaponised. Addressing the Economic Times World Leaders Forum in New Delhi this evening he said India continues to take several steps to ensure continued growth momentum and reforms are a commitment of his government.
He also said India has moved away from Production Linked Punishment model during earlier governemts to Production Linked Incentives now. He alleged it was policy of earlier regimes to keep people in scarcity so that they beg before govt for even basic needs. Mr Modi said licence raj of earlier governments was used to increase unemployment while his government’s production-linked incentive model creating opportunities. He said his government is not just changing regulations, it is changing entire policy of regulations.
Mr Modi has said that India has always believed in the spirit of a shared future. He said that this is the reason that during India’s G20 Presidency, its guiding principle was “One Earth, One Family, One Future.
He said, the world has witnessed many ups and downs in the past few years, and these experiences have made one thing very clear that the future of every country is connected to that of other countries. He said, the spirit of a shared future, along with the sense of responsibility associated with it, provides answers to many of the challenges facing the world in the 21st century.
