Women farmers connected to international markets through commercial export of mangoes to Duba

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the commercial export of two metric tonnes of Amrapali mangoes from Jharkhand to Dubai. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that the mangoes were sourced from three women-led Farmer Producer Companies in Gumla and Deoghar districts, developed under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana. It added that the initiative enabled farmers to earn nearly 180 per cent higher returns compared to local market prices. The export marks a significant step in connecting tribal and women farmers with international markets. The Ministry said the initiative reflects its continued efforts to strengthen export-ready farmer collectives through capacity building, quality improvement and market linkages, while boosting the export potential of Jharkhand’s horticulture sector.
