In West Bengal, the Kalimpong district administration has issued a high alert to residents residing along the lower Teesta River basin. The alert has been issued due to heavy landslide which partially blocked Teesta River Near Chyakoong in Mangan district, Sikkim. Mangan, East and Pakyong districts administration has also issued a high alert to the people of Sikkim, dwelling in downstream Teesta river basin areas.
As per official sources, District administration and emergency response teams of Sikkim were mobilised immediately after the incident.
