West Bengal Govt coordinates with Nepal authorities to trace 36 missing people

The West Bengal government is maintaining regular contact with the Nepalese authorities to trace people from the state who are missing following a flash flood in Nepal. Sources at Nabanna said the state government is also in regular coordination with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and the Nepalese administration. A team of state government officials is likely to be sent to the affected area today to assess the situation and assist in the efforts. 
 
Meanwhile, Kolkata Police has launched a toll-free helpline to provide assistance and information related to the incident. The helpline number is 1800-345-5678. So far, 36 people from Kolkata and other parts of West Bengal are reported to be missing following the devastating flash flood.
