Sources at Nabanna said the state government is also in regular coordination with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and the Nepalese administration. A team of state government officials is likely to be sent to the affected area today to assess the situation and assist in the efforts.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Police has launched a toll-free helpline to provide assistance and information related to the incident. The helpline number is 1800-345-5678. So far, 36 people from Kolkata and other parts of West Bengal are reported to be missing following the devastating flash flood.
