West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the development and transformation of West Bengal. He said this during a press conference in Kolkata today to mark the 12th anniversary of the central government. He announced that a “double-engine” government has now been established in the state, ensuring that West Bengal, like other states, receives all central benefits under the Prime Minister’s leadership. He highlighted that the Prime Minister has broken all past records to set new benchmarks and has taken a leading role in rebuilding India, working tirelessly as the nation’s chief public servant (Pradhan Jansevak) rather than a Prime Minister.
Presenting the achievements of the 12-year-old government’s welfare schemes, he emphasized that the core foundation of this tenure has been public service, empowerment, nation-building, and advancing the country while preserving its heritage. He noted that the Prime Minister has successfully implemented Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Integral Humanism, specifically pointing out major initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Awas Yojana, and the Jal Jeevan Mission.
He further stated that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has moved several steps closer to leading the world and becoming a “Vishwaguru” (world leader), balancing development with heritage through significant milestones like the construction of the Ram Mandir. He concluded that 12 years of service and good governance have transformed every citizen’s life, expressing confidence that every countryman will work toward building a “Developed India” (Viksit Bharat) by 2047.
