Vice President CP Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tributes to freedom fighter Pingali Venkayya, the visionary who designed the Indian National Flag, on his birth anniversary today.
In a social media post, Mr Radhakrishnan said Pingali Venkayya was an eminent freedom fighter, a true Gandhian and the architect of India’s National Flag. The Vice President added that Pingali Venkayya left an indelible mark on the nation’s history. Mr Radhakrishnan noted that as the Tricolour continues to unite every Indian with pride, everyone remember his selfless service and enduring legacy with deep respect.
Prime Minister Modi said, Pingali Venkayya is remembered for his invaluable role in giving the nation the Tricolour. The Prime Minister said that the Tiranga fills every Indian heart with immense pride and inspires citizens to work towards nation building. Mr Modi said that the efforts of the freedom fighter always inspire people to serve the country with dedication and patriotic fervour.
