Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan today expressed sorrow over the demise of renowned music composer Deva. In a social media post, Mr Radhakrishnan said that the music composer had carved a distinct identity for himself in the Tamil film industry through his unique musical style and popular gaana songs that captured the lives and emotions of people. The Vice President noted that Deva had composed music for over four hundred films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, making a lasting contribution to Indian cinema. He said that Deva’s memorable compositions and distinctive contribution to gaana music would continue to be cherished by generations of music lovers. The Vice President described the composer’s demise as a great loss to the Tamil film and music industry. Mr Radhakrishnan extended his condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, friends, members of the film fraternity and music lovers.
